Some encaustic experience required

This is a fresh take on one of my most-loved subjects. Over four weeks, we'll merge encaustic with your own photographs — exploring, experimenting, and building a practice that feels genuinely yours.

Basic encaustic experience is helpful, but you don't need to be an expert. If you're confident working with encaustic on your own, you're ready.

We'll skip the common technical frustrations and focus on the techniques I reach for most:

  • Hand coloring photos before and after waxing

  • Printing on tissue paper and copy paper for photo collage

  • Photo image transfers onto wax

  • Tips for combining all 3 techniques

>> BONUS #1: Video from a previous live Q&A session explaining printing instructions

>> BONUS #2: Video instructions on how to photograph your work without special equipment

Each week our live Zoom session will be recorded. You'll get a more detailed schedule when you register so you'll know what's coming up! Additional options are available for private mentoring sessions.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Each of the 4 weekly sessions includes a new encaustic technique and demonstration, and sometimes a photography challenge. The weekly sessions are 90-minute live demonstration with time for questions, starting with an overview of the course and a live painting demo each week plus:

Each of the four weekly sessions introduces a new encaustic technique and a live demonstration. Sessions run 90 minutes on Zoom and are recorded so you can revisit them anytime. You'll receive a full schedule when you register.

Whether you're newer to encaustic or have years of experience, the instruction meets you where you are — and pushes you further. Private mentoring sessions are also available as an add-on.

MEET NEW ARTISTS. STAY CONNECTED.

This isn't a watch-and-absorb experience. Just like in my in-person classes, we think out loud together — you're part of the conversation, not just an observer.

A private Facebook group is our gathering place between sessions. Share your work when you feel ready, get feedback, and connect with artists from around the world. Working within a supportive community changes everything about how quickly — and how joyfully — you grow.
